A real leader should be able to provide a vision and purpose. Otherwise, employees might not have confidence in you. A vision and purpose helps make it clear what you want to achieve and what the role of each employee is in achieving those goals. They are the guiding force and the direction that others want to follow.

In order to not have miscommunication and misunderstandings, create a clear set of goals. Don't be vague because it's just going to backfire. Be as specific as possible.  Don't leave any room for anyone to guess what needs to be really done.

Being a leader means that people will loo up to you to guide them so it's extremely important to lead by example.  For instance, if they see you being late for work, they might think it's okay to do that as well.  You have to be someone that they can emulate.

"The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher inspires."
Leadership requires being able to build a company culture that is not shy of teamwork.  Teamwork makes the achievement of tasks more efficient.  It allows discussions and creates an environment wherein everyone is helping one another instead pulling each other down.

It is important to be optimistic when you are a leader.   When things go wrong you need to be their pillar of strength to guide them through.  Your positivity and optimism are needed to boost the morale of your employees.

Employee appreciation is crucial in a company culture.  The great work of your employees should be acknowledged and praised.  It creates a sense of pride for them when they know their hard work is seen and appreciated.

Communication is crucial in a team. Without it, misunderstandings among everyone involved will happen. If you want something done correctly, you have to communicate clearly. It seems easy but not every leader or team practices it because of fear of hurting each other's feelings.

Give your employees a voice. Do not shut them out just because you manage them. Let them be a part of the discussions and you just might be surprise of their solutions or ideas. Don't make them feel like they are robots.  Let them know that they can help make decisions.

By developing your leadership skills, you’ll see your team’s performance, productivity, and morale improve significantly.

In turn, this can lead you and your company towards greater success.
